Flavia Traven, MPH

With more than ten years experience in higher education and a focus on instructional design, Flavia brings an extraordinary amount of creativity, innovation, and collaborative skills to the Research Skills Development Course. Her own diverse educational experiences make her exceedingly adept at bridging diverse backgrounds and experiences to help all students reap the full benefit of the course.
Flavia’s focus on instructional design and higher education administration elevate RSDC’s offerings and insure that the educational needs of all students are not only met but exceeded.
International Experience
Flavia Traven holds degrees from multiple international universities, including Universidade Santa Ursula (Brazil), Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), University of the Sunshine Coast (Australia), and Emory University (United States). Over her career, she has served as a Dietitian Assistant for Paralympic swimmers in Australia, interned with Save the Children in Mozambique, performed field research with the Famine Early Warning Systems Network in Mozambique, and served with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States.
She currently serves as the Associate Director of Academic Programs for Emory University’s Hubert Department of Global Health, where she manages and coordinates all aspects of student admission, faculty training, and learning management system (LMS) development.
